The B-Ready is Convertible… What a Lifesaver!
The best thing about the Britax B-Ready is that it converts into a total of 14 different positions. The below image shows you them all:
If you own or purchase the Britax Chaperone car seat (sold separately) it can also be used as a travel system when you attach it to the B-Ready with the car seat adapters. If you own a different brand of car seat, there is also the Britax universal car seat adapter, which will let you use infant car seats from Graco, Peg Perego, and Chicco in the same way.
The bassinet configuration (second row, first configuration) requires the purchase of the B-Ready Bassinet. This can be used with the second seat, which is great if you have two babies.
The Britax B-Ready’s Second Seat
If you’re the parent of twins or two babies, you’ll really love the secondary seat that the B-Ready has. It’s surprisingly easy to attach, and it has 4 reclining positions as well as a nice and adequate sun/rain canopy.
You’ll probably be pleased to know that the Britax B-Ready can also fully fold with the second seat attached. You simply use a sliding release, which collapses the second seat, letting it fold down with the rest of the stroller for easy storage in a car trunk, etc.
Safety and Comfort of the Britax B-Ready Stroller
The Britax B-Ready Stroller has been well designed to make it just about as safe and comfortable as it can be. Some of the great comfort features of the B-Ready include:
Fully Reclines — A stroller that fully reclines is definitely a welcome feature for children; it makes it much more comfortable and easy to fall asleep in, which I’m sure parents will appreciate, too. There are a total of 3 different reclining positions for your child to enjoy, and like other great luxury strollers, the entire seat reclines with the use of an easy-to-use lever. I’m sure you’ll really love how easy it is to use.
Sun visor/canopy — The large canopy does a great job at protecting your baby from harmful UV rays. Also included is a rain cover, which conveniently fits away underneath the seat in the case of an unexpected rain shower when you’re out and about with your child. The canopy has a peak-a-boo window is made of mesh, allowing air to circulate inside and has a flap with a magnetic closure. If you’ve ever used a stroller with a Velcro flap, you know just how loud they can be which tends to wake up baby — not so with a magnetic one!
One-foot braking system — I’m sure parents will appreciate the design of the one-foot, one-motion braking system, which is not only convenient to use, but a great safety feature, as well. The B-Ready also has a colored indicator which lets you know if the break is engaged or not.
Great Convenience Features of the Britax B-Ready Stroller
First of all, the great under-seat storage compartment is super convenient. It is accessible from all sides, and is ideal for storing things like diaper bags, purses, or any other items you might bring along with you. The Britax B-Ready stroller also includes a storage bag with insulated drink holders, which is a nice touch. Finally, it also includes an adult cup holder, which is ideal for a bottle of water or any other kind of drink. Even when using the second seat, there is still a lot of room in the storage.
The Britax B-Ready is easy to clean, thanks to the materials used. A simple wet cloth is usually enough to clean the fabric.
The handle bar is fully adjustable for parents of any height, whether tall or short. It’s very comfortable to use and manoeuvre, especially on the wrists for shorter parents. One parent noted that she was 5’2 and had some issues using other strollers, but had no trouble at all with the Britax B-Ready thanks to the adjustable handle bar.
The wheels come off for easier storage in a car trunk. Although the B-Ready is a little bit bulky, the ability to remove the wheels easily does make it easier to store away.
A Few Downsides to the Britax B-Ready
Although there are a lot of great things about the Britax B-Ready stroller, there are some common issues I’ve seen raised by parents about it. They aren’t deal breakers, but they might be something you want to think about.
Folding and unfolding the stroller can be somewhat of a pain, due to the bulky nature of the stroller, especially when used with the second seat. It might take a bit of muscle to get it folded and unfolded. Luckily, once you do it a few times, you’ll figure out the best and easiest way to do it, and it does get easier.
Another complaint some parents had with the B-Ready is that it’s pretty heavy when used with the secondary seat — around 35 pounds. It can be folded with the second seat, but there might be some issue with fitting it into a smaller car trunk. Of course, this is to be expected with a large stroller like this.
Conclusion: Should I Buy The Britax B-Ready Stroller?
To be perfectly honest, the B-Ready is best-suited for those that have two or more children that might be using the stroller. Since it does have the option to use the secondary seat, if you only have one child and don’t plan on having another, you might be better off going for a single-child stroller. Then again, this is an excellent stroller with a lot of great features.
It’s definitely worth checking out if it seems like it would be something you’d like!
